Bruno Last year I received an email asking if anyone could foster a very malnourished and sickly kitten that had been found abandoned. A photo was attached - which I shouldn't have looked at - but I did, and by that evening I was holding in my hand a kitten that was so ill I doubted he would live more than a few days. He was clearly exhausted by his efforts to survive, but was determined to do so. Matching his determination, and over the course of several weeks, I treated him with antibiotics, regularly feeding him tiny amounts of solid food with kitten milk from a dropper. Every morning I made my tea hoping he would slowly wibble wobble his way towards me from his bed and that I wouldn't have to go and look and see something I didn't want to see. Seven months later, the vet having operated on his badly damaged mouth, he has grown to be a gorgeously long legged, green eyed Arabian Mau that I couldn’t be parted from. If you ever have the opportunity to foster or adopt through PAWS, I thoroughly recommend it. They are extremely supportive throughout. Seeing this particular transformation has been extremely rewarding and watching him enjoy his health and life is great. -S-		Sahjee Hi! I thought you’d like to know that Sahjee is doing just great and I do think he’s grown, certainly he has filled out a bit more and I think he’s a little taller too. The Vet said he might grow some more but probably not a whole lot. He’s lost some more of the baby teeth but has one kind of snaggle tooth still today. He loves his rawhide Hickory flavored bones to chew on and his toys. He really likes crunchy food, won’t touch soft stuff at all. Well except for my chicken and homemade noodles, he does seem to like those quite a lot! We don’t give him much table food really, he mostly just likes his puppy chow and loves crunching it! He’s leaving the furniture alone now thank goodness! Hehe! Nothing we can’t fix you know. He’s so affectionate, just an ideal pet really. Thank you so much for bringing him to us, I don’t know how we could get along without him now, he’s a part of our family!He makes sure we go to bed on time and won’t let me go back to bed in the mornings! It’s okay if I lay down on the couch though. I’m enjoying Sahjee so much, and so is everyone here at the compound, all the little kids know his name! He’s famous around here! Usually I keep him back and they only talk to him, but they sure would like to pet him, I just like to make sure he’s humanized enough to really handle that first, though one little girl just walked up slowly to him and petted him before I knew it, but Sahjee loved it. This morning our neighbor’s little boy behind the wall behind us, when he went outside, first thing, he started saying, Hi Sahjee!!! It was so cute! Sahjee went right to that wall too and kind of whined back to him to let him know he heard. Well I better go for now, but wanted to update you on how Sahjee is doing, he’s really great!!! Sincerely, -I-	Monty & Yuri I am amazed at how time flies and there have been so many memories to share with you all - I am attaching a "One year" photo journal for Yuri and Monty. We love them so much and love having them in our lives. Some highlights - Yuri loves to run around and play cat "tag" and sometimes she'll chase us and we'll chase her. If we catch her, she gets a "love attack" where we tickle her and kiss her and scream out "Love attack! Love Attack! Love Attack!" then we let her go and she does it all over again. She loves it! Monty's favorite game is to play "go fetch" with his mouse toys - he has so many of them in different colors - this week I opened the storage closet for spring cleaning to switch out winter and summer clothes... I was amazed to find that it is his "secret hiding place" where he buries his mice! It is the cutest - he plays with them and loves when we throw them and he'll fetch it and bring the mousy back to us! He usually does a few summersaults too when catching them! So cute! They both love "treat time" and come running over to me whenever I call it out so they see what treat I have for them at the time! Their favorite - Monty's favorite - dried salmon chunks. Yuri's favorite - chicken and cheese soft bites! As you may know, we had a huge snowfall in the Northeast USA. Monty loved the snow so much, he would go around playing in it, burying his mice in the snow and even eating it! Yuri went out a couple of times but was definitely out of her element! She prefers the warm environment and everytime it was sunny she'd find a nice spot that the rays were hitting and sun bathe! They both love to play so much and I hope they never grow out of it! Anyone who meets them loves their personalities. They're so involved and don't keep to themselves like most cats. They follow you around and Monty loves to chat while he's doing it. Yuri just skips along. Whenever we have guests, Yuri sleeps by them to welcome them. Monty plays fetch with them and they are very welcoming! Everyone loves them. They think that the two are so involved because I spend 98% of my time at home working and studying (because I have a home office) that they are used to human interaction and involvement, as opposed to people who go to their office jobs and are absent most of the day. Whatever it is, there is no doubt that the two are extremely hospitable and talkative with our guests! The two enjoyed the holidays very much from Thanksgiving to Christmas, they both enjoyed the feasts and the gifts! It's officially spring here now and the snow has melted and the birds are starting to appear everywhere. Both Yuri and Monty spend so much time watching the birds - Monty is very vocal and clucks anytime he sees a bird. Yuri is more of an observer and also enjoys bird watching. Hugo & Boss Formerly Known As Bam-Bam & Boo-Boo Hi there, Just wanted to let you know the ‘boys’ are doing fantastic and I think loving being out of the heat and able to run around and play. They’re both adorable and even the shyer one is not so shy any more! Hope you don’t mind but I’ve renamed them Hugo (shy one) and Boss (obvious reasons!). They’re very active as you’d imagine and into everything but thankfully haven’t yet attempted to scratch any furniture. I’m so glad you suggested them to me, they’re such a lot of fun and I adore them both. Sheila
